About us...   

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Crete runs a course leading to a:

The aim of the course is to train professionals qualified in the field
of public health, capable of pursuing a career in the health services, either as public health physicians or as professionals
in the management of the health section.

A parallel aim is to train professionals competent in research and training in the field of Public health & Health Care Management.

The Master's course admits a total of 20 students each year,
who are physicians, health professionals and graduates of
economics and social sciences.

The official language of the course is Greek, with the exception
of a limited number of lectures which are delivered in English.

For the period 2003-2006 the course is co-financed by the O.P. "Education" (Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training) of the Hellenic Ministry of National Education & Religious Affairs' and the European Union.

Public Health Public health is "the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organised effort of society"
